You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. FOR 0511 Auditor (Performance): BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A. Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. Note: All applicants MUST submit transcripts as verification of educational requirement OR a certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination as described under Combination of Education and Experience above by the closing date of this announcement. In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirements of the 0511 series, you must also meet the experience listed below: Minimum Qualifications for GS-11: 1. Three years of progressively higher-level, directly related graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 2. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-9 in the Federal Service performing all of the following: 1) Applying appropriate qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques and tools to a variety of assignments; AND 2) Identifying, analyzing, and researching accounting and auditing issues. OR 3. A combination of education and experience, as listed above. Note: If using education to qualify, transcripts are required at the time of application. Minimum Qualifications for GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS-11 in the Federal Service performing all of the following: Planning and performing audit assignments; Developing recommendations for corrective action or improving operational efficiency/effectiveness; AND Preparing audit work papers or reference documents. There is no substitution of education for experience at this level.
