Provide all levels of OS support for all servers and shall participate in the following activities at the direction of the SAA and PGDM to achieve the desired outcomes. Manage the applications that are on the servers and maintain server certificates. Transitioning of business applications from lower environments to Production. Support activities involve use of virtualization, management software products that provide management, administration, provisioning, and enables automation of Windows OS. Use of the supporting tools for this implementation are required for automated system monitoring as each application is brought on board in Dev, Test and then transitioned to the Production environment. Ability to design, develop, and document technical solutions, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures and change requests. Experience deploying, upgrading, and maintaining business systems and applications. Experience developing and maintaining SQL and Powershell scripts/processes. Operational knowledge of creating, renewing, and maintaining SSL/TLS certificates. Operational experience of database structures and operations, (MS-SQL). Operational experience with MS Server administration. Including service accounts, security groups, deployments and routing application / server updates, FTP, SFTP (vShell), etc. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science preferred. Working Conditions Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption.
