Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience (GS-13): One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) developing cost estimates and Cost Risk Analyses for a variety of civil works construction projects which include new construction, renovation and/or improvement civil works projects; 2.) preparing fair cost, baseline and working control estimates on a range of civil works construction projects; and/or 3.) supporting cost, construction, and design engineering, and/or contract administration throughout a project's life cycle to ensure baseline project estimates, supporting construction schedule, and construction contract execution is on time and on budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12) ***In addition to meeting the specialized experience above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the basic Individual Occupational requirements listed in the education section below .*** You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Building and Construction Cost Estimation and Analysis Leadership Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). About the Position: The position is located in the Portland District, Engineering and Construction Division, Construction Branch, Construction Services and Cost Engineering Section. The Section provides cost estimates, construction schedules, and participates in design reviews and specification development for a wide range of civil work construction projects involving extensive geotechnical, structural, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical features.
