BASIC REQUIREMENT: All applicants must possess the following: J.D. or LL.B. degree --AND-- Active membership of the bar in good standing in any state, territory of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. (Note: proof of bar membership will be required before entry on duty. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement. SK-15: Applicant must have three years of post J.D. work experience independently identifying legal issues, providing legal analyses, providing legal solutions/recommendations, and preparing legal documents such as contracts memoranda, and disclosure documents, which also includes two years: Providing legal guidance on issues arising under the federal securities laws, including interpreting statutes, rules, and regulations; Conducting legal research and developing interpretations of statutory and regulatory provisions; and Applying the requirements of the Investment Advisers Act, Investment Company Act, Securities Act, and Exchange Act. ACCOMPLISHMENT RECORD COMPETENCIES: Your Accomplishment Record narratives should address the following competencies. The Division of Investment Management's Rulemaking Office is seeking a Supervisory Attorney-Adviser (Private Funds Branch Chief) in the Investment Adviser Regulation Office. As a Branch Chief, you will lead policy development for private fund advisers, oversee complex rulemakings, provide interpretive guidance, supervise attorneys, and advise Commission staff and leadership on key regulatory initiatives.
