About This Role

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT FEDERAL APPLICANTS: I have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 (or higher) grade level or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of an extensive body of education rules, procedures, and operations to perform the wide range of education technician work related to the College's mission and objectives, and skill to apply this knowledge to resolve a wide range of issues using organizational instructions and accepted practices through extended experience. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, structure, and operations of agencies and organizations that affect administrative requirements, with the ability to recommend changes to optimize the effectiveness of interrelated procedures and policies. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. OR EDUCATION: Have Two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Have a combination of specialized experience and education as described above. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS FOR CURRENT FEDERAL APPLICANTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of MilPDS, AUREPM, and nuclear PCE. 2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, memoranda, reports, spreadsheets, databases, graphs, and presentations. 3. Skill in use of automation software and related equipment to enter, maintain, and retrieve curriculum data and to compile reports, produce charts and graphs, and monitor project/curriculum status. Advance knowledge of personal computers and computer programs/software (Microsoft Office suite) to perform non-routine functions such as preparation of reports using database and spreadsheet software, and basic troubleshooting. A qualified typist is required. 4. Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures, grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, formatting, rules, procedures, and operations applicable to clerical assignments to prepare/review routine correspondence/reports and perform clerical procedures to arrange a variety of material from different sources and other administrative work of organization. 5. Ability to read and interpret specific procedural guidelines pertaining to administrative support, including locally developed equipment operating and document processing instructions, which are directly applicable to the work. Ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for routine reports, inquiries, and non-technical correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy to maintain effective work relationships. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
