About This Role

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Conducting complex civil and administrative trade investigations involving violations of trade statutes related to CBP's Priority Trade Issues, including developing case strategies, gathering and evaluating evidence, and recommending appropriate enforcement actions such as penalties and liquidated damages; Using CBP or similar trade/law enforcement systems and databases (e.g., TECS, Automated Targeting System (ATS)-Import Cargo, Cargo Trend Analysis (CTA), Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)) to research and analyze trade data, identify high risk imports, detect potential transshipment or evasion schemes, and support revenue protection and case development; Supporting and/or assisting in investigations involving trade fraud or evasion schemes, including reviewing complex allegations, determining culpability, assessing potential revenue loss, coordinating investigative steps and enforcement responses; Coordinating trade compliance or enforcement activities with internal and external partners to share information, develop or support enforcement operations, and address complex trade compliance issues; Performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of trade data and investigative information to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of trade enforcement activities and developing comprehensive written products and presentations for senior management and/or interagency audiences. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 05/28/2026. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
