About This Role

In order to meet basic qualifications for GS-2210 positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies defined below: Attention to Detail - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant keeps abreast of latest technology, information, research, etc., to maintain knowledge in field of expertise (for example, reads trade journals, participates in professional/technical associations, maintains credentials). Customer Service - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant promotes or develops and maintains good working relationships with key individuals or groups. Oral Communication - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant serves on panels, committees, or task forces as a representative for the organization on technical or professional issues. Problem Solving - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant monitors current trends or events (for example, technological, economic, political, social, educational, or employment trends or events) and applies the information as appropriate. In addition to demonstrating the basic qualifications listed above, applicants must also demonstrate possession of specialized experience. GS-13: To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized Experience: Experience performing duties such as using information technology concepts, methods, standards and practices to evaluate and resolve hardware and software problems; provide user training and assistance on variety of routine applications; plan and improve information systems to meet the needs of customer requirements; troubleshoot end user computer hardware and software issues; configure, install, and maintain network systems including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, workstation and mobile device troubleshooting and support, and related hardware; and maintain systems accounts with various enterprise software programs. Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)-The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
