About This Role

Education Requirements In order to qualify for a Health Program Specialist GS-0601 position, you must have completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or graduate higher-level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Additional Qualifications To qualify at the GS-11 level: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: participating in the planning, coordination, and implementation of scientific training programs; drafting and contributing to technical evaluation reports, academic manuscripts, and professional presentations; conducting literature reviews, analyzing scientific information and supporting research-related activities and analyzing program metrics to identify operational gaps and deploy targeted quality improvement strategies. OR B. Completion of a higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree in a related field from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a related field. OR C. A combination of graduate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing and implementing training programs for an organization's students, trainees or employees employees interested in pursuing professional biomedical careers; integrating best practices in training and education for research programs; and providing career guidance to students interested in biomedical careers and preparing informational materials for current and prospective trainees, including website content and marketing materials. To qualify at the GS-13 level: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing and implementing scientific training and workforce development initiatives for students, trainees or employees pursuing careers in the biomedical field; evaluating training programs effectiveness through performance data analysis; overseeing training program operations, including budgeting and student recruitment; and advising students on biomedical career pathways and professional development opportunities. A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
