Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) Conducting safety and occupational health inspections to ensure compliance with federal safety and health guidance, such as OSHA or DoD standards; (2) Integrating Risk Management principles into marine or maritime terminal operations; and (3) Overseeing the safe transport of hazardous materials, to include arms, ammunition, and explosives (AA&E). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). About the Position: Serves as the Safety and Occupational Health Manager for a military controlled port. Responsible for full range of safety program management principles to include marine terminal operations; the transport of hazardous materials; industrial safety and occupational health responsibilities.
