Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing data to address the needs and challenges of service members and their families, ensuring compliance with all DoD and federal research requirements, working with stakeholders to ensure accurate collection and/or representation of data across programs relating to service members and their families, communicating data in plain language for external stakeholders, conducting analysis of current and/or past data trends to promote the success of current and future initiatives, and identifying potential problem areas to propose solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Spouses of disabled or deceased members of the Armed Forces, including: Spouses married to a member of the Armed Forces who retired, was released, or discharged from the Armed Forces with a disability rating of 100 percent under standard schedule of rating disabilities in use by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Spouses of a deceased member of the Armed Forces who was married to the member on the date on which the member died while on active duty, and who has not remarried. About the Position: This position is assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (DASD (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)). This position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy.
