About This Role

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion and Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) Status applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you possess BOTH the Basic Requirement AND Specialized Experience requirements outlined below: Basic Requirement: You must possess a Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited institution with a major in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences that is appropriate for the Occupational Health Specialist position. (Must submit transcripts.) AND Specialized Experience: In addition to the Basic Requirement above, to be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience below: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to: Applying regulations and procedures to advise on or resolve health related matters dealing with applicant/incumbent that have job-related medical requirements; Managing and reviewing medical cases within medical programs (e.g., medical standards); AND Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of applicant/incumbent medical programs. The selectee of this position serves as a Occupational Health Specialist responsible for the management and oversight of the Medical Qualification/Fitness for Duty program, the Medical Return to Work Contract Performance, and the Court Security Officer (CSO) Applicant Interim Medical Approval program for contract Court Security Officers. This position is located in the Judicial Security Division, Arlington, VA.
