About This Role
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition. Ability to Lead or Supervise: Assists with planning and organizing work activities for employees. Examples Include: Advise supervisor of problems involving disciplinary actions and counseling on conduct. Set goals and deadlines for accomplishing work; give instructions to employees on work procedures and safety Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Effort Incumbent is often required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Employee may lift and carry items that weigh up to 40 lbs. The heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. Working Conditions Works inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted and is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized conveyor systems and may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and solvents and to high noise levels in mechanized work areas. When working in hazardous materials areas, employee may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes. work may require wearing protective clothing such as hard-hats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons. NOTE: Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate country, state, and/or government licensing. Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19. If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12. If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for early intervention ervices (EIS) will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12. Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
