Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform the most difficult and complex Maintenance Mechanic duties. Skilled in installing and repairing mechanical systems or related structures, as well as the installation and repair of electrical systems. Knowledgeable in applying federal and local codes and regulations while planning and installing systems. Skilled in the maintenance and repair of varies plumbing systems air conditioning equipment. Can operate vehicles such as pick-up and flat-bed trucks, sedans and vans. Moderate physical effort is required in the frequent handling of objects weighing up to 20 pounds and the occasional handling of objects weighing over 50 pounds while loading and unloading cargo, making couplings between vehicle and towed equipment requires moderate physical effort in those heavy chains, bars, hooks, etc., must be lifted and properly secured. Requirements for standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Requires considerable walking, standing on concrete floors, and climbing stairways and ladders. Light-to-moderate effort is used to turn valves and controls. Works in stretched, cramped and awkward positions. Considerable standing while working on ladders or scaffolds. Works inside and outside in all kinds of weather. Comes in contact with running motors, pumps, and machinery. Cuts, bruises, and broken bones may result from accidents. Subject to possible injuryfrom vehicle accident. Works in cramped quarters inside and outside; exposed to mud and water;dirty, dusty and greasy conditions and injury from use of power and hand tools and occasional useof caustic soda and hot lead.
