Health Science Specialist

Basic Qualifications: You must possess a Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in a major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of a Health Science Specialist (Copies of transcripts are required at the time of application) AND Specialized Experience: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS - 11) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Health Science Specialist. Qualifying specialized experience includes but is not limited to: managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Research & Development Committee processes, including receipt, review, and referral of research applications, and coordination with investigators to resolve study protocol issues; developing and implementing policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms in alignment with local and national guidelines; maintaining project tracking databases, preparing compliance reports, and independently monitoring program content.
