To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials At the WG-4 level, the Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) includes the following: Performing elementary carpentry repairs using simple measures and hand tools. Performing simple plumbing duties such as replacing toilet seats, installing soap and paper towel dispensers, unplugging sinks and toilets using a plunger, and tightening simple connections to stop leaks. Custodial duties and trash collection. General landscaping and grounds maintenance such as cutting grass with push/riding mowers, assisting with vegetation control such as trimming, cutting, and removing various vegetation that has encroached on park infrastructure, buildings, parking areas, and trails. At the WG-5 level the Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) includes the following: Performing simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment and related utilities including minor carpentry repairs, painting, and minor plumbing repairs. Operating a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work. Cleaning and servicing chemical toilets, restrooms, and other visitor facilities. Has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to operate chainsaws in accordance with safety policies and practices.
