About This Role

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement: This position has a basic entry requirement. The entry requirement requires completion of education or a combination of education and experience sufficient to be comparable to that normally acquired through the completion of a four year course of study with a major in the professional or scientific field. Please refer to the Office of Personnel Management Individual Occupational Requirements for possible ways to meet the basic requirements. Basic Requirement Fire Protection Engineer 0804 series: Fire Protection Engineering Series 0804 (opm.gov) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in reviewing designs, plans and specifications for fire protection systems; conducting pre-design surveys to obtain data for Fire Protection systems; and/or participating in the testing of Fire Protection systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). This position has selective placement factor which must be met prior to employment and for continued employment. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current, active, valid and unrestricted license as a Professional Engineer (PE) in a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position requires independent judgment and initiative with minimal supervision, consulting leadership as needed. Performance is evaluated on effectiveness, timeliness, and technical quality.
