FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. GS-11 Specialized experience for the GS-11 level is defined as experience assisting in providing financial advisory services for a large organization with an emphasis on Security Assistance/Security Cooperation (SA/SC) programs or Foreign Military Sales (FMS). In addition to meeting the specialized experience, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade GS-09 in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. GS-12 Specialized experience for the GS-12 level is defined as experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving a wide range of budgetary challenges; experience utilizing financial systems to research and analyze data pertaining to the budgets; experience processing and executing funding documents associated with the Security Assistance/Security Cooperation (SA/SC) programs or Foreign Military Sales (FMS); or experience with FMS sales processes from case development through implementation, execution, and closure. In addition to meeting the specialized experience, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. GS-13 Specialized experience for the GS-13 level is defined as experience with programming, budget formulation, budget justification, and presentation; experience with budget execution, processing funding documents, or managing spend plans associated with the Security Assistance/Security Cooperation (SA/SC) programs or Foreign Military Sales (FMS); or experience with FMS sales processes from case development through implementation, execution, and closure. In addition to meeting the specialized experience, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade GS-12 in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
