About This Role

A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Successful completion of a 4-year college or university degree with a major course of study which directly relates to the appropriate CYS field consistent with: For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as related behavioral science. 2. In addition to the basic requirements stated above the following is required: Experience that involved teaching children or other work that demonstrated the ability to perform the duties of the position. Ability to select, train, and supervise childcare and preschool employees, family childcare providers, or other care-giving adults. Ability to develop and implement child development programs, including family day care programs, part-day preschool programs, and before and after school programs. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. Must possess comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences. OR 1. Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in education or appropriate CYS field as indicated above, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described.2. In addition to the basic requirements stated above the following is required: 3 months of directly related work experience teaching children or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position to be filled. Ability to develop and implement child development programs, including family day care programs, part-day preschool programs, and before and after school programs. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. Must possess comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Previous facility management experience of an Army child development center (Supervisory Program Specialist at minimum). Experience with garrison command inspection process. Experience with daily and weekly management accountability tools. Experience with successful execution of National Association for the Education of Young Children Accreditation. This experience must be clearly listed on your resume to be considered for Highly Preferred status. Applicants meeting the highly preferred criteria position will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection. This position is located at Clear Creek Child Development Center. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child:25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives and bonuses will not be paid.
